Martha Friesen passed away at Comox Valley Seniors Village on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

She was predeceased by her husband Henry Friesen, daughter Eileen Friesen and parents and all her siblings. Martha is survived by her sons Clifford (Marie) Friesen of Merville, BC, and James (Anita) Friesen of Campbell River, BC; grandchildren Alyshia Parczen, John Friesen, Clinton Friesen and Ken Friesen; great-grandchildren Eli Friesen, Sam Friesen, and great-great grandson Garion Friesen.

For 40 years Martha worked for the Cross Bow Aux. Hospital as a cook in Calgary, Alberta. In her leisure, Martha was a member of the Filberg Senior Centre and enjoyed embroidery, crochet, sewing, collecting; tea pots, dolls, spoons, antiques, garage "sale-ing" and gardening.

Martha loved family and friends. She loved old time music, dancing, walking and going for drives anywhere.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Martha's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.bc.ca would be appreciated.

Viewing and visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 22 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 23 at Courtenay Civic Cemetary, followed by a celebration of her life at 1:00 pm from Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Peter Rabey officiating.
