High

Mary Ann Boothman

of Cumberland, B.C.

In loving memory of our Mother who passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox on June 4th, 2003. Mary was born October 29th, 1921 at her home in Vancouver, BC. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years William High in 1995 and is survived by and will be dearly missed by her sons, George, Jim and Lorne (Wendy), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and her dear friend Arlene and goddaughter Diane (nee: Windley’s).

For many years she taught St. John’s Standard and Industrial First Aid and was very proud of her students and their accomplishments. She was a member in good standing of the Order of the Eastern Star, Beaufort Chapter #61 and enjoyed the volunteer work and camaraderie of the service they provided to the community. She worked for Eaton’s Canada in the drapery department for 23 years and savoured the customer relations and the travelling that Eaton’s provided for her. She loved her residence in Cumberland especially on May Day where she welcomed all visitors with lunch and refreshment.

A tea was held in her honour at the home of her son Lorne (Wendy) on Saturday, June 7th.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tancon and the staff of St. Joseph’s for their kindness and compassion and acknowledge her many home care workers who affectionately cared for her over the last several years. A special thanks to our Aunt Peg who was a constant companion throughout providing our Mother with comfort and support.
