Mary Bell Beveridge

June 30, 2004

Mary (May) Bell Beveridge passed away peacefully on June 30, 2004. She was predeceased by her sister Anne in 1989, and is survived by her sister Margaret Sarkissian (Nanaimo), nephews William and Don Kitchen (Ann), niece Anne Witcher (Kitchen), great- nephews and nieces Laurie, Geordy, Jesse, Bob, Rob and Tess, and great-great niece and nephew Lea and Jared. May is also survived by her extended family, George and Cathy Kitchen, Ted and Marcella Sarkissian, Donna (Sarkissian) & Bill Presiznuik, and many cousins in Great Britain.

May was born and raised in Cumberland, where her parents and grandparents settled in the early 1900s. She taught school in the district for many years and as a much loved teacher and school principal (Comox Airport School), May touched the lives of many residents of the Comox District.

May was close to her family, and a very special aunt to her nephews and nieces. Please join her family in a celebration of her life on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 1:00pm in the Cumberland United Church (corner of First and Penrith) with a tea following at the Cumberland Seniors’ Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in May’s memory would be appreciated by her family
