Passed away peacefully in her 80th year at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox on January 14th, 2006. Mary is survived by Ken, her husband of 57 years, daughters Peggy (Dennis), Katy, son Doug (Donna), her grandson Mitchell and sister Jean. Mum was a devoted wife and mother first who filled all our lives with warmth, love and laughter. In addition Mary served as an Alderman in West Vancouver for 9 years during which time she was a great friend to the Fire Department and Library. Mary had a great sense of humor which was evident in her weekly newspaper column in The Citizen and later on her Shaw community cable program. In 1976 Mary was appointed Chairman of the BC Housing Management Commission where she served for 13 years. Memorial Service to be held Friday, January 20th at 3:00 pm at Comox Valley United Church, 250 Beach Drive, Comox. The family wishes to thank Dr. David Musgrave for the many years of excellent care and the outstanding nurses and staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital for the compassionate care Mum received during her final week. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the MS Society or St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox.
