Mary Tobacco, born August 8,
1921 in Cumberland, passed
away peacefully on April 28,
2005 in Comox.
Mary was predeceased by parents Charles and Della; sisters: Violet and Lil; and brothers: Charles, Ray, Tim and Bill. Left to mourn are sister Doris (Cumberland); brother George (Lunenberg Country, N.S.); numerous nieces and nephews (great and great-great). Mary travelled a fair amount before settling in Cumberland where she owned and operated “Babes Cafe” for over 20 years. She loved her sports and a visit to her house would bring anything from baseball to golf on the TV. Mary will be lovingly remembered for her generosity, sharp tongue and honest opinions. She didn’t want a service, but an open house was held on Saturday, April 30. Mary was quite a woman and will be missed.
