Verbrugge, Meta Edith

Meta was the third of five siblings in a pioneering family in Balmoral, Manitoba. She married Jack Verbrugge and together they farmed and raised their family, active in the community until his death in 1977. Shortly thereafter she moved to Comox where she enjoyed the beauty of the Valley and family and community life. She spent her last few years in Glacier View Lodge where she received loving and compassionate care. Her family deeply appreciates each and every staff member.
She was a much loved mother to Roy and Eileen Verbruge of Winnipeg, Joan and Chris Barltrop of Toronto, and Heather and Gabriel Van Holderbeke of Courtenay; a beloved grandmother to Greg and Anita Van Holderbeke, Michael and Robin Van Holderbeke and Christine and Graham Morfitt of Courtenay, and Patrick and Kiersten Van Holderbeke of Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, and of Jim and Suzanne of Winnipeg and James and Jennifer of Toronto and their families. She was dearly loved by her great-grandchildren: Canci, Emilie, Chantal, Gabrielle and Ruby Mae of Courtenay, and Hannah, Parker, Maxwell and Chloe of Toronto.
A Service to celebrate a life well-lived will be held in Balmoral, Manitoba in the Fall.
