Mee Kyoung Michelle You passed away on June 18, 2007 after another visit from leukemia. Michelle approached her death with nothing less than true grace, providing strength for friends and family while wrapping her own mind around her approach to the most mysterious of life’s chapters.
Ever the embodiment of life, Michelle filled every room she entered with her huge smile, her contagious laughter, and her beautiful spirit. Michelle lived in the moment: She lived to love and be loved by the myriad people lucky enough to know her. A gifted hairstylist and a compassionate friend, Michelle knew how to make people look and feel beautiful. Her circle of friends is deservedly large, and each of us is blessed to have been loved by this wise woman who will be missed but always at the centre of this circle.
Mee Kyoung sat at the heart of her family and is survived by her father, Young Gil You; mother, Sue Ottley; brother, Shawn You; and sister-in-law, Mabel You.
A service to acknowledge Michelle’s death and celebrate her life will be held at the waterfront at Filberg Park on Friday June 22nd at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Michelle has requested that money be donated directly to the Comox Valley Hospice Society.
