Down, Murray Campbell
1930 ~ 2004
Murray was born March 19th, 1930 in Calgary, Alberta and passed away November 11th, 2004 after a battle with cancer. He was predeceased by 2 sons: Douglas and Dale, and daughter Sandra. Murray will be sadly missed by his loving and supportive wife Lorraine; sons: Dan (Jennifer) Chase, Dennis (Kareen) Down; step-children Leanne (Sam) Carnie, Edward Bowden, Ginger (George) Simons, Dianne (Dave) Wigstan, Debbie Sinclair, Cindy (Ralph) Von Kampen, Gay (Merle) Miller, and Brian (Annette) Bowden. He will also be missed by his grandchildren: Alexandra, Zachary, Andrew, David, Jason, Sean, Lisa, Sam, Edward, David, Alexander, David, David, Jamie, Chris, Katie, Michael, Nicole, Jeff, Ashleigh, Yolanda, Devon, and Riley; all of whom he adored, as well as his sister Brenda (Carl) Elvers. Murray was the oldest truck driver on the west coast and will be missed by all he worked with.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, November 28th at the home of his son Dan Chase, 5880 Sea Terrace Rd., Courtenay at 1:00 pm. Many thanks to Dr. Aldis, Dr. Wiens and Piercy’s Funeral Home for all their support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Murray’s memory to the B.C. Cancer Society.
