MOTTERSHEAD - Noel Francis of Comox, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009, aged 95.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of 67 years, Beryl; daughter Susan South (Dennis); grandson Mickey South; granddaughter Daniella Nadja (Nicholas); grandson Travis Wood (Simone); great-grandchildren: Peyton and Serreece; his brother Brian Mottershead of Australia; and nieces and nephews: Kim, Anne, Peter and Jeremy, also in Australia.
A university professor, Noel taught philosophy, logic and mathematics at Chico, California for 25 years, prior to moving to Vancouver Island. In his leisure, sailing was the love of his life and one of his many adventures was piloting his sailboat "Altair" from Victoria to Australia by celestial navigation. He also loved a good game of tennis and was a lifetime member of the Bowser Tennis Club.
