OVEN, Norma Irene Grace
On 21 Dec 2010, we lost a wonderful lady, Norma Oven
She died peacefully, with the same grace and dignity that she lived her life.
She was the loving wife of Anthony John Oven. The fantastic Mother of Mark Piercy and Nicole Piercy. The supportive Step-Mother of Nic Oven. The fun going Mother-in-law to Maria Piercy and George Robinson. The daughter of Rosalie and Harry Sheppard of Courtenay, BC.
The sister and friend of Madge Appleby, fondly known as Sheppy. The very lovely friend of Shirley and Ellen – 2 wonderful people in her life. And a good friend to many.
She was famous for her artistic creations and adventurous events. Many will remember the hilarious and infamous Oven Open Golf Invitational at the Comox Golf Club. The many spectacular Christmas Eve Cocktail parties at our home in Burlington.
The fabulous creations at Crafty Ladies. The fun times with the Loosey Goosey Bridge Club. The invention of the Picture Rental at the Hamilton Art Gallery. The beautiful hand made Christmas card sent every year.
Her stories and smiles always lit up the room. She will be truly missed.
