GUELPA, Oscar
February 12, 1916 – February 8, 2010
Our much loved Dad and Grandpa passed away peacefully at the age of 93. He is survived by Lydia, his loving wife of 67 years, his sons Dennis (Susan) and Keith (Sue), his grandchildren Stephanie, Lindsay (Ryan), Paul, Michael (Amy), and Chris (Lara) and his great grandson, Jack.
Oscar was born in Prince Rupert, raised in Victoria and spent most of life in the construction industry and proudly served Canada in World War 2. The stories of his life entertained, amazed and encouraged all who had the privilege of hearing them.
No service will be held. The family held a celebration of life on Sunday, February 14th in the home he and Lydia built at Bates Beach, Courtenay.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Dave Musgrave, the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and the staff at Comox Valley Seniors’ Village for their help during his final days. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Unit.
