BROWN, Pamela Elizabeth (Bon)

August 3, 1944 – January 24, 2010

Pamela died peacefully at home in Courtenay BC, surrounded by friends and family. She died with grace and dignity, just as she lived. Survived and dearly missed by son Christopher (Miranda) and grandson Arlo; daughter Marijke; brothers and sisters Richard, Jay, Rebecca, Brenda (McNee), Sara (Crowder), Josh and Fred; her nieces and nephews Aiya, Grace & Spencer McNee and Wyatt Brown. Predeceased by parents Fred and Ruth Brown. Survived by mother Eleanor McLachlan.

Pamela was born in Winnipeg, grew up in Strathroy, Ontario and graduated from the Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in Montreal in 1967. She married Thomas Bon in 1968 (marriage ended 1996) and moved west to Port Hardy in 1971 where they raised their two children. Pamela provided skilled, loving and compassionate care at the Port Hardy Hospital for 34 years as a Registered Nurse. After retiring, she moved to Courtenay where her passions and curiosity inspired several years of living life to the fullest. She loved volunteering, travelling and cultivating friendships. Pamela was vivacious, witty, generous, courageous and adored by all. She will be sorely missed.
