KENNEDY, Pearl (nee Lapp)

August 11, 1921 ~ October 15, 2010


It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and dear friend, Pearl. Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, October 15 at the Cumberland Lodge. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Douglas Kennedy, son Gary Kennedy, brothers Dick Lapp, Philip Lapp, Bob Lapp, Johnny Lapp and great grandson Robbie Derycke. Also sisters Elenor Lapp, Ross Wylie, Bev Lanyon. She will be sadly missed by sisters Muriel Nadeau, Betty (Bill) Shewfelt, Doreen (Evaldo) Filipponi, Ruth March, Elsie Dawson, brothers Dave Lapp, Ernie (Bev) Lapp, Allan (Vicky) Lapp, sons Doug (Sheila) Kennedy, Dan (Barb) Kennedy, daughter Linda (Bob) Davenport and grandchildren Nicole (Rob) Evans, Bobby Derycke, Annette Kennedy, Norman (Tanya) Kennedy, great grandchildren Colton, Hayden, Teran, Kyel, Slater, and many nieces, nephews and friends.


Pearl was born in Victoria the oldest girl of 14 children. She met and married the love of her life Army Private Doug Kennedy. After the war, the Air Force took them to bases across Canada and overseas. They retired in the Valley and were active members in the church and the community. Mom was a lifetime member of the Pythian Sisters, and the Legion Ladies Auxillary. Mom had a full and happy life in the Valley and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
