OAKFORD, Penny Jane
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, our partner, our friend Penny Jane Oakford at her home on Friday August 20th, 2010. Cancer took her from us long before we were ready to let her go.
Penny will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her partner Cliff Lutley, her daughters Sam Oakford (Eric Falconer), Paula (Byran) Bohmer, and Marie (Dave) Levenson, her sons Troy (Diana) Livingston and Waylon (Melissa) Oakford, her grandchildren Cody, Lucas, Kaylin, Gabriel and Jillian and her brothers Bob (Carol) Logan, Howard Logan, Bud (Gina) Logan and Terry (Bunny) Logan. She is predeceased by her parents Bob & Mary Logan, sister Patricia Stad and her husband Russel Johnson.
Penny worked for several years at H&L Meats and at the Merville General Store. She also spent many years contributing to the Courtenay Rodeo. For those of you who knew her, Penny’s family was the most important thing to her. She thrived in her life as a grandma. All of us will miss her strong character and loving, kind ways including everyone who knew her as Nen.
The family would like to thank the nurses from the Vancouver Island Health Unit (Monica, Sandy & others) for their support and care during this difficult time.
A celebration of her life will be held in the near future.
