BICKLE
Philip Edward
passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on September 12, 2005 at the age of 68.
The son of the late E.W.T. and Helen Bickle, Phil was born on April 12, 1937 in Cumberland, B.C.
Lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Cheryl, his daughter Tracy Ellis (Howie) of Campbell River and his son Craig Bickle (Sheri McLean) of Courtenay, B.C., 2 grandchildren Brandon and Kali Ellis, sisters-in-law Sandra Gallaway (Bill) of Courtenay, Barry Ann Bury (Dick) of Prince Rupert, B.C. and sister Juli Gibson of Campbell River, B.C.
Phil was best known for his involvement in the family business E.W. Bickle Ltd. (which included the Comox District Free Press, E.W. Theatre, Van Isle Theatre and the Campbell River Courier-Islander). He was president of Sunnydale Golf Club for many years and was the driving force behind Sunnydale’s 18-hole expansion.

Service will be held at Piercy’s Funeral Home, Courtenay, B.C. on Saturday, September 17 at 2 p.m.
