Reverend Richard F. Hall

August 27, 1928 - March 16, 2007

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard at St. Joseph’s Hospital ECU, Comox on Friday, March 16, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife Winnifrid of 55 years and his children: Karen (Bill), Pamela (Bob), Michael (Colette), his sister Beverly (Bob), and by his grandchildren: Amber, Scott, Natalie, Garrett, Samantha and Ginny. He also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, as well as many wonderful friends and relatives.

Richard worked for many years for the BC Forest Service and then the Credit Union before returning to university to train as a United Church Minister. His first charge as a minister was in Saskatchewan but he later returned to British Columbia where he served in several communities. Richard was a champion of the underprivileged and the mentally handicapped. He was a very kind and compassionate man, always there to help anyone in need. Recently, he was proud of his involvement in the Citizen’s Assembly on Electoral Reform.

The family would like to thank all the caring staff at St. Joseph’s ECU, the hospital and Dr. Matous for their tremendous efforts to make Richard comfortable during his illness.

We welcome you to a service of remembrance on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1:00 pm at the Comox United Church. A reception to follow at the church. Arrangements entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, #102-1509 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay, BC V9N 2K6 would be appreciated.
