PRICE - Rita (nee Maskill)
passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Comox on February 5th, 2002. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 54 years, John; her daughters: Vera Cain, Gwyn Sproule and Barbara Price; her grandchildren: Toria, Flora, Joe, Annabelle, Maddy; her brother Ray Maskill and by all who knew her.
Rita was born on the 13th of January 1919 in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England. She spent her early years in the Dallowgill area of North Yorkshire. During the war years she worked in Leeds at the munitions factory, then for the NAAFI, as well as air raid warden at night. She raised her family in Leeds and moved to Harrogate in 1970. Her last big move was to the Comox Valley thirteen years ago to be closer to her family. Rita was a founding member of the Laura Gordon Chapter of the IODE. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, February 9th at 11:30 a.m. at The Church of St. John the Divine with Father John Lancaster officiating. PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME in care of arrangements.
