HILBORN, Robert Henry
Bob passed away in peace at his home Saturday, September 9, 2006 after a two year battle with cancer.? Bob was born in Saskatoon, SK. in 1930 and came to the Comox Valley in 1978.? He and Kay were married in Courtenay in 1980.? Bob was past member of Toastmasters International and Canadian Power Squadron.? For several years he was chairman of the Union Bay Improvement District and took great interest in the community in which he lived.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife, Kay, his children: David (Widmer), Deborah (Peter) Struk, Daniel,? Danita (Mark) Jenken, Robert, Rodney and Carol, and his stepsons: Alan (Lonna) and Craig (Sandra) Rautenberg.? He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jesse,? Amy, Krystal, Jacob, Christine, Erin and Christian. Bob will be sadly missed by friends and neighbours.
There will be no funeral by request but the family wishes to especially thank Father Paul Murphy for his wonderful help at this time of stress and pain.? Donations in Bob’s name may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or to the B.C. Cancer Agency.
