RON ELSON
March 26, 1944 ~ July 14, 2017
It is with immense sadness we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, father & granddad.
Ron passed peacefully with his loving family at his bedside in Hospice after a long and difficult journey with Parkinson’s & Lewy Body Dementia.
Ron was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and after graduating from RMC in 1966 he enjoyed a successful 35 year flying career in the Air Force, Alberta Government & STARS (Air Ambulance) before retiring in Comox in 2004.
Married to his wife Margaret for 51 years they raised 2 daughters; Jennifer Calow (Dave) & Heather Goertzen (Dave) who blessed them with 5 grandchildren.
Ron’s amazing life was filled with love, loyalty, kindness, integrity and an endearing sense of humour. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Many thanks to Dr. Potter-Cogan, Robert his Neurophysiotherapist, his caregivers, nursing staff at St. Joseph’s and Hospice.
