Ron Holliston passed away peacefully in Comox on February 19, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his father Edmund Holliston and his mother Mamie Holliston. Ron is survived by his wife Sandra Holliston, his son Kevin Holliston and his fiancé Shannon Mack of Courtenay, B.C., his daughter Shari Eagles and her husband Mike Eagles of Comox, B.C., his grandchildren: Kendra Eagles and Jayden Eagles, his sisters Darlene Horine and her husband Don Horine of West Palm Beach, Florida and Colleen Holliston of St. Catharines, Ontario, as well as his nieces and nephews Malynda Treagus, Melissa Monaghan and Duayne Steele. Ron served in the armed forces for 34 years with a better part of that as a search and rescue specialist. He retired in 1988 after serving in Trenton, Ontario, Edmonton, Alberta and Comox; B.C. as well as some time overseas in Germany. Ron also spent time as an instructor for survival training school in Jarvis Lake and in the Northwest Territories. Ron enjoyed spending quality time with his wife Sandra, taking her to Reno twice a year. Ron was a very hard worker who helped many people as well as his family.
