Passed away peacefully at her home in Glacier View Lodge, Courtenay, B.C. April 30, 2003.

Rosie was born in Portsmouth, England on 23 June 1914 and emigrated to Canada with her parents in 1917. Rose was a 43 year resident of the Kitsilano area of Vancouver. She moved to the Comox Valley in 1980, and moved into Glacierview Lodge in 1992.

Rosie was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Rosamond Butler of Crescent Beach, B.C., by her husband Melvin C. Wilson of Vancouver, B.C. by her 2nd husband Wm Reynolds of Vancouver, B.C. and her daughter Joanne Mary Riva of Comox, B.C.

She is survived by her son Mel H. (Myrle) Wilson of Comox, B.C., daughter Judith Mae Pitt of San Diego, California. Grandchildren: Kelly (Steve) MacDonald, Nanaimo, B.C., Karen (George) Ewald of Port Hardy, B.C., Ken Wilson of Courtenay, B.C.; Bill (Pam) Pitt of Bothell Washington, USA, Joanne (Jake) Vaclavek of San Diego, California, and Lisa (Vinicio) Veronese of Como, Italy. Great grandchildren Dustin and Jordan MacDonald of Surrey and Nanaimo, B.C. Charity and Josh Ewald of Port Hardy, B.C., Sierra, Aliyah and Sophia Pitt of Bothell, Washington, USA.

A Celebration of Rosie’s life will be held at a memorial service in the Lounge at Glacier View Lodge, 2450 Back Road, Courtenay, B.C., on Saturday, May 3rd at 1:30 pm.


Rosie’s spirit will live in our hearts forever.
