Rose passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital following a heart attack days earlier at her residence in Casa Loma Seniors Home, Courtenay, BC.

Rose was predeceased by husband, Percy Norton in 1978. She is survived by nieces and nephews: June Sehn (Dixon), Charles Dixon and Jackie; Ron Fentiman and Jane; George Fentiman and Inga; Doug Fentiman and Joan; Marygail King (Fentiman) and Ron.

Rose was born in London, England, came to Canada in 1925 with the family, which settled in Richmond, BC. She was a member of the Canadian Women’s Army Corp 1942-1945, worked for Woodwards Department Store, Vancouver (Wool Dept.) 1947-1965 in a managerial position in the latter years.

Rose then started her own business, RoseN Wools in Richmond 1965-1972. She moved to Courtenay, BC in November 2000 to be with and cared for by family.

Following cremation, private family interment will take place at Ocean View Cemetery, Burnaby. Rose’s family would like to express their appreciation for the care and support she received from Casa Loma Administration and Caregivers, the paramedics, emergency room staff and the nurses on the second and third floors at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Special thank you to her Doctor, Brad Harris and the staff of Continuing Care, and their nurses (VIHA).
