GARRISON

Roselda Jean

It is with great sadness that the family of Roselda "Jean" Garrison announces her passing on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at the age of 83 years.

Jean resided in Cumberland for over five decades and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28 in Cumberland for over 30 years and a member of the Old Age Pensioner Organization in Cumberland. She enjoyed knitting socks and making crafts, often adding her own touch. Jean was inventive and creative. With a funny story, a good joke or riddle, Jean always had the talent to make you smile. Jean was a very devoted to her family and never forgot anyone's special day. She loved very deeply, and was very much loved in return.

Jean survived her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" M.S. Garrison, May 24, 1999. She will be remembered by her daughter Linda Gail (Hilton Henry) Tugwood and granddaughter, Rose Marie Antwis (Samuel James Constible); Gloria Gene Cote (Brian Les Strange) and grandchildren Micheal, Allan and Michelle Cote; granddaughter Vicki and two great grandchildren; her brother Garnet (Laverne) Riviere; sisters Vera Novak, Ola Parkes and Fay Legault; as well as her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Diana Gwen Garrison, February 18, 1999. Many thanks to the Palliative Care staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox for their care and support. A tea for friends and family to celebrate Jean's life will be held March 29 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the O.A.P. Hall in Cumberland. For those wishing, donations in her memory may be made to Cumberland O.A.P. #51 or to a charity of your choice.
