STRIDE - Ruby Mildred of Courtenay, passed away suddenly at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday, January 14th, 2002, at age 73. Predeceased by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother, Rub is surived and will be lovingly missed by her husband of nearly 54 years, Monson; sons Alfred “Sonny” (Lynn), Eugene (Norah), Bert (Anna); daughter Elizabeth (Jim) Bell and son Garry (Cheryl), all of Powell River; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 2 sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Since her move to Courtenay, Ruby became active with the Evergreen Seniors and continued to enjoy her hobbies of knitting, crocheting and a good game of cards, particularly crib and rumoli.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, January 21st at 1:30 p.m. from Stubberfield’s Funeral Home, Powell River.
