BUSH, Russell Waldo

July 12, 1924 February 26, 2010

With great sadness, Russ' family wishes to recognize the passing of Russ this past week.Russ enjoyed a long and happy life, from his birth in Vancouver through a short stint in the Merchant Navy, before finally settling on a career in the Canadian Air Force. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from 407 Squadron in Comox, after 33 years of service. During his retirement he became active in both the Canadian Legion and Masonic Lodge, especially providing volunteer service driving the "cancer car". He also enjoyed his outdoor activities, including golfing, gardening, and camping. Russ is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret; his three children Judy Nuse of Anaheim, Greg Bush (Kathy) of Nanaimo, Lorene Blackstock (Mike ) of Comox; his sister Norma Binns of Vancouver and sister-in-law Joan Bush of Vancouver, his eight grandchildren Rick, Rana, Tamara, Garrett, Lindsay, Megan, Ryan and Nathan; his five great-grandhildren Addison, Aiden, Tanner, Payton, and Tegan; and in addition, many extended cousins, nieces and nephews.

We know that Russ will now be re-acquainted with those who predeceased him, including his parents, brother Gordon, brother-in-law Richard, son-in-law Dave, and grandson Donovan.

Russ' gentle soul, infectious laugh, and wonderful sense of humour will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Canadian Alzheimer Society.
