BAIRD, Sandy
June 18, 1949 - July 14, 2007
Douglas Gordon Macdonald Baird (Sandy) passed away on July 14th, 2007 at the age of 58. Lovingly remembered by his wife Charlene; daughter Erin (Glen) of Cumberland; two sons Damian (Amanda) of Cumberland and Ryan of Victoria; 3 grandchildren Emily, Zachary and Chai of Cumberland. His three brothers John (Leslie) of Cumberland, Patrick (Laurie) of Cumberland, Dallas (Nancy) of Port McNeill and his sister Louise (Allan) of Cumberland and many nieces and nephews and his dog Sindi. He was predeceased by his parents Doug and Pat.
Sandy was born, raised and lived his life in Cumberland and was very proud of it. He was actively involved in all aspects of his community, politics, recreation, emceeing events and anything else he was asked to do which was fairly often. Sandy loved to socialize and enjoyed spending time at his cabin, road trips, hunting, fishing, concerts, Penticton, playing cards and watching ball games with family and friends. Sandy was passionate about his family, friends and his job which he loved. He will be missed by his coffee shop groups.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 21st, 2007 at 1 pm at Cumberland United Church followed by a tea at the OAP Hall in the Cultural Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Vans-Masonic Community Charities Fund, 3871 Mimosa Dr., Nanaimo, BC, V9T 6B9 c/o Don McKenzie.
