MacVittie, Scott Douglas

Feb 7, 1961- Jan 10, 2006

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Scott/Doug who drowned, while doing what he loved best, being on the ocean in a boat. He is survived by his parents Norma Sims (Paul), Alvin (Faye), his sister Susan, niece Skyla, son John and his many many friends.

Doug was an adventurous spirit and hard worker who will be remembered for his keen sense of humor. When he wasn’t on his sailboat or riding his Harley, he could be found playing his harmonica or sitting having a beer with friends telling tall tales. He lived his life.

“Only time moves on to the next scene -

memories are part of the heart forever.”

A Celebration of his Life will be held in Courtenay at the Lower Native Sons Hall, Saturday, January 21 at 4 PM. Everyone who knew Doug is welcome to attend. Please bring your stories, instruments and smiles.

Arrangements entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug’s memory can be sent to A.I.M.-Association for Injured Motorcyclists. Donations will also be received at the celebration and forwarded.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
