Maniak - Sharon Ann of Comox, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 19th, 2006. Predeceased by her father Thomas McGillis and brother James McGillis, Sharon is survived by her husband Fred; step-daughters Kimberley Kunz and Julia Keller, both of Calgary; step-grandchildren: Koddy, Jaiden and Lucas; sister Joyce (Bob) Pook and her mother Helen McGillis, both of Ft. Saskatchewan, Alberta. She was a Life Member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary, Branch 4, Royal Canadian Legion, Welland, Ontario and well-known member of Branch 4. Sharon volunteered with many Welland community organizations. She actively supported seniors’ groups, the Salvation Army, the Jaycees and was heavily involved with youth baseball and was a driving force which led to both Provincial Titles and the Canadian Championship. A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of her life will be held from Branch 160, Royal Canadian Legion on Wednesday, July 26th at 1:00pm.
