Pickering, Sheila Helen (nee McCagg)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a great lady, wife, mother and grandmother after a lengthy battle with cancer. Sheila will lovingly be remembered by husband Douglas a.k.a. Hart and four children; Karen (Jim) Bell, Margaret (Bryan) Balding, Douglas (Kelly) and Jennifer (Calvin) Thomas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Megan, Stephanie, Bryson, Christine, Sarah, Justin and Colin, four sisters; Wilma, Barbara, Laura and Diana, a brother Ron and cousin Ann.

Sheila was born and raised in Ottawa. Her teaching career was interrupted by marriage, children and frequent moves. Later she became interested and involved in Literacy and ESL programs, as a coordinator and teacher. Sheila was an avid reader, loved bridge, travel and cherished time spent with family and friends. Her wonderful sense of humour left a smile on many a face.
