Slava (Sylvia)
March 29, 2007 - May 6, 1930
Passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 29, 2007. Sylvia was born in Roge, Serbia on May 6, 1930. She moved to Canada in January, 1963 and resided in Winnipeg, Manitoba for several years, before moving to Courtenay, B.C.
Sylvia held many different occupations in Winnipeg, from Sports Crest designer to farming. She also owned and operated an Auto Electric shop and gas station with her husband Bill.
In the early 1970’s Sylvia moved to Courtenay with her family and started Comox Valley Auto Electric. She was actively involved with the family business until May 2006.
Sylvia enjoyed gardening, bowling, and hosting many a BBQ and celebration! She was also involved with the Royal Purple for many years.
As well as being a homemaker and a loving mother, Sylvia extended her love and caring to many others.
Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bill; her children Zorica and Don (Donna); her grandchildren: Milutin, Zoran (Kellie), Alanna, Katrina; and her brother Radisa; and extended family and friends in Serbia.
Celebration of Life and reception will be held at Piercy’s Funeral Home, 440 England Ave., Courtenay, B.C., April 7, 2007 at 1:00 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers to Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC.
