Ryznar, Sophia Magdalene
Sophia, aged 88, resident of Glacier View Lodge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2005. predeceased by her husband Michael, sister Elsie and brother Stephen, she is survived and will be lovingly missed by her daughters and sons, Gloria (Bud) Faubert, Ralph (Pierrette) Ryznar, Gerald (Terry) Ryznar and Dolores (John) Smith; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter; her sister Helen Dancoisne and many nieces and nephews. Sophia’s family has wonderful memories of homemade bread, delicious cabbage rolls and perogies and the mouth-watering smells of her kitchen. Once away from home her children could always count on her to send detailed recipes when requested. Family meant everything to Sophia and she was fortunate in her latter years to have many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren near her. She will be missed dearly.
Prayers will be offered on Friday, March 18th at 8:00 pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home and Crematorium, 1101 Ryan Road, followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 19th at 1:30pm from Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, with Father Paul Murphy, celebrant. Interment will take place on Tuesday, March 22 in Coleman, Alberta. For those wishing, donations in Sophia’s memory to the B.C.
