Stan passed away suddenly

at the age of 75 at his home.

He is was survived by his wife

Catherine of 52 years; his son Stuart (Amy); daughter Janis (Joe); 5 grandchildren: Matt, Steven, Nick, Lauren and Parker; brother Gerry; and sister Dayle.

Stan grew up in Victoria and moved to the Comox Valley in the early 1950’s. He worked as the principal of Lake Trail, Tsolum, Courtenay Sr. and Courtenay Jr. As the first principal of Highland Secondary Stan was proud to have a lead role in creating and developing the innovative new school. He worked tirelessly mentoring thousands of children over his career until his retirement in 1986.

Stan’s vast community service included president of the Comox Rotary Club in which he remained an active member and a Paul Harrts Fellow, Results Manager at the BC Winter Games held in Courtenay, and treasurer of the Bingo Palace.

Stan enjoyed skiing, fishing, golfing, gardening, curling and spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be forever missed by his loving family and many friends.

Stan will be honoured on Friday, August 25th, 1:00pm at Comox Valley Funeral Home & Crematorium, 1101 Ryan Road, with fellowship and refreshments following in “The Garden Room” and outdoor patio of the funeral home.
