BAYKO, Steve

October 20, 1923 - March 20, 2010

Steve Bayko passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home at the age of eighty-six after battling cancer. A veteran of World War II and a Legion member for over sixty years, he was a self-employed carpenter with a love for flying.

Predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy only four months prior and his grandson Devon in 2007, he is survived by his children Faye Bayko (Robert), Reg Bayko (Denise), Wendy Sanchez (George), grandchildren Jessica, Chris, Theresa, Stephanie, and great-grandaughter Savanah.

Thank God that now his flight can be

To heights his eyes had scanned,

Where he can race with comets

And buzz the rainbows span

For he is universal

Like courage, love and hope

And all free, sweet emotions

Of vase and godly scope.

An informal tea will be held in memory of Steve and Dorothy at their home Tuesday, April 6th, at one o'clock. In lieu of flowers donations to the BC Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
