Neilsen, Theodor Marinus

Ted was born in Testrup, Denmark in 1919. He was the last of thirteen children, all of whom have predeceased him. Ted served as a Royal Guard under King Christian X of Denmark and later as a police officer in Copenhagen. He was married in 1943 to Oda Hansen. Together with their daughter Hanne, they emigrated to Canada in 1949. They settled in Duncan where Ted worked as a carpenter building the local high school. In 1958 they moved to Chemainus where Ted worked in the sawmill until he retired. In 1994 they moved to Black Creek where they lived together until Oda passed away in late 2000.
Ted is survived by his daughter Hanne (husband Ken), grandson Leif (wife Chrystal and daughter Kylie), grandson Kurt (wife Jada and children Jael, Jagur, & Jorja).
There will be a Memorial Service for Ted at 1:30pm, on Saturday, October 6th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 1935 Evergreen Rd, Campbell River. Following the Memorial Service there will be a tea held at 8831 Island Highway, Black Creek.
