ZINCK, Valerie Lynn (nee) Postill
January 2, 1950 ~ August 9, 2010
Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox.
Valerie was a New Years Baby, born in Powell River, B.C. to Rose and Alf Postill.
After high school Valerie took a hairdressing course, graduated and started her own business in Powell River. Valerie's passion and drive took her to many other careers, she owned and managed a Ceramic Business in Comox, and was later the floor Manager for Rexall. Her caring nature came through in her last position of Caregiver in the Comox Valley.
Valerie touched many lives, she loved to smile and always found the positive side of every situation, her cup was always half full.
Her hobbies were cooking, gardening and she loved kayaking and her dogs.
Sadly Valerie lost her battle with cancer, but she will not be forgotten by her family and friends.
Valerie was preceded by her father Alfred Postill and her brother Ross Postill. She is survived by her loving mother Rose, stepdaughter Tina, aunts, uncles, cousins and her many many loving friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 at 1:30 pm from the Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay with refreshments to follow in the "Garden Room and Outdoor Patio" of the Funeral Home. Valerie's family would like to send a special thank you to all the Doctors and nurses who helped and cared for over the past year.
