Wally Silvestri passed away suddenly in Comox, B.C. on July 6th, 2005 aged 57 years.

Predeceased by his father Alfeo, he is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 34 years Pat; his mother Alfie; his son Scott (Danielle) of Courtenay; his daughter Lori (Jarrett) Helland of Vulcan, AB; his grandchildren Kinley, Presley and Ty; his brother Rick (Liz) of Courtenay; his nephews David, Dan, and Doug; and other nieces and nephews too numerous to mention all by name; as well as an aunt and uncle in Kelowna, B.C., an aunt in Italy as well as 2 cousins in Calgary and 1 cousin in Italy. Wally was involved most recently in the Courtenay Rotary Club, the Airport Commission, the Comox Valley Hospice Society and Crime Stoppers. He was on the Board of Directors for Home Hardware and was a well-known developer in the Comox Valley. Wally served as the Mayor of Grande Cache, Alberta for 16 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Wally had a great sense of humour, loved the outdoors and would always help those in need. A Liturgy of the Word took place at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church,1599 Tunner, Courtenay on Monday, July 11th, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. Arrangements entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME and Crematorium, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY, B.C. In lieu of flowers donations in Wally’s memory made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. & Yukon, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z8 would be appreciated.
