Howard, William Henry “Bill”
Of Comox, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010. Predeceased by his parents William and Clara Howard, infant son Anthony, brothers JImmy and Harry and sister Evelyn. He is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife of 68 years, Julia; sons Michael (Leslie) of Abbotsford and Chris of Black Creek, daughters Patricia Vaugeois and Penelope (Robert) Taylor, both of Port Hardy; his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his niece Judy.
Bill was a proud veteran of World War Two, 1939-1945, serving with the Canadian Army Artillery. Upon discharge, he worked with Canada Post in Vancouver, retiring after 21 years. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and golf at Sunnydale.
Following cremation, private family interment will take place at Courtenay Civic Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined in consideration of donations in Bill’s memory to the Comox Valley Food Bank.
A Graveside Service for Mr. Bill Howard will take place at Courtenay Civic Cemetery on Wednesday, January 20th at 11:00am. Friends are welcome to attend.
A reception will follow at Comox Valley Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road.
