Measor, William Roy

October 14, 1930 to January 7, 2010

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bill, Husband, Father, Grandpa and Uncle.

Bill fought his health challenges for many years with humour, courage and dignity with his best friend and wife Joyce by his side with her unwaivering support and love. Bill was predeceased by his first wife Grete (nee Larsen) in 1971, as well as his parents, Sisters and Brothers. Bill leaves behind him his wife Joyce, his children Donnie Lea, Kim, and Shawn, his Grandchildren Kari Lee, Christopher, Lia, Kayla, Jenna, Sarah and Riley. Bill also leaves behind many kind friends and family and some special childhood friends as well.

Bill started his life in Calgary, Alberta where he later became a member of the Calgary City Police Force. With his inherrant love of nature he chose to become a “protector of wildlife and Canada’s National Parks” as a Park Warden in the Jasper/Banff region. Bill then moved on to Kemano and Kitimat, BC. as a Sargeant for Alcan aluminium’s security force. After the sudden death of Bill’s first wife Grete, Bill was very proud to become a “Special Constable” with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and posted in Vancouver then Calgary. Bill met Joyce while posted in vancouver and  they soon commenced a life together in Calgary and later retiring to Comox, BC. Life was much kinder to Bill in Comox, as he could get out and about on almost a daily basis in his electric chair and dazzle all who met him with his quick wit, determination and unfailing courage. Rest well dearest Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and friend. You dwell in our hearts forever.

A special memorial celebrating the life of Bill shall be announced at a later date.
