Wilma May
September 22, 1929 - October 11, 2008
Born September 22, 1929 to Gerda and Martin Wilhelmson in Vancouver, B.C. Wilma passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members Saturday, October 11, 2008. She was a loving mother, nana, grandma, friend and surrogate mother to anyone who needed her.
Wilma is predeceased by her husband Robert Gerald Mangles in November 2003. She is survived by her two sons Terrance Mangles (Scotia) and Robert Mangles (Rhonda); grandchildren: Hayley. Dylan, Jayden and Nicholas; her brother Gordon Wilhelmson (Francis) of Nanaimo; and many nieces and nephews and special friends.
Wilma and Gerry settled at Piper's Lagoon where they raised their two sons. Wilma was a realtor in Nanaimo, Past President and Vice President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Wilma enjoyed crafts, cooking, baking, spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and caring for her animals. The summers were spent on Denman Island camping with family and friends.
Wilma and Gerry retired in Qualicum and celebrated their 40th anniversary on their plot of paradise.
Wilma will be missed greatly by family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 18th at the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NRGH Palliative Care or the B.C. Cancer Society.
