HAVE YOUR SAY: Paton family grateful for medical attention

The family of Doug Paton wants to go on record to say how grateful we are for all those who have been there for our Dad, Doug. Dr. Bakshi has bent over backwards to make sure he is getting the help he needs, including making a house call on a very busy day and treating Dad like he was the only person in the world; Dr. Mandy Ruthnum and nurse Christine McIntosh who have also so been there for him; those at Veterans' Affairs, Living Room Pharmacy, OmniCare and all the people at VIHA — caregivers, care co-ordinators, everyone. All have been so caring and helpful. It is a difficult time for us, but these professionals have made it a whole lot easier. Thank you, thank you.

I'd like to extend a huge bouquet to the thoughtful and kind person in the Courtenay/Comox area that propped my Buick hubcap up alongside the road by Costco for me to come back and find it about three days later.

Why is it that the Queen of Burnaby can continuously spew oil into the ocean and neither Transport Canada or Environment Canada seem to be doing anything about it? So much for BC Ferries caring about the environment. Greener waters ahead?!!
