Everyone should have the choice of MAiD

Dear editor,

Dear editor,

I have been a patient at the Comox Medical Clinic for the past 25 years and have received excellent care from the staff and doctors.

I have discussed MAiD (Medical Assistance in Death) with my doctor - a controversial issue - and found him compassionate and understanding.

I have also been in the hospital four times over the past two years for various procedures.

Considering funding, staff, nurses, etc. and the shortages in those areas, I have the highest praise for the treatment I received.

I was born and raised Roman Catholic, educated by the nuns, Christian brothers, and Jesuits from the age of three to 16 years old.

Everyone, regardless of creed or gender, should have the choice of MAiD in their finals days.
