Give long-term care to St. Joe’s

Dear editor,

Dear editor,

I have read all the letters etc. regarding Providence and Glacier and I am mystified. I had understood that Glacier Views property was given to the people of the Valley for a care facility “in perpetuity.”

If that is so, then surely it cannot be given or sold to anyone.

I suppose it could be leased but surely it would have to be for continuation of a care facility.

Having been a patient at St. Joe’s (and very well treated) I have not been aware of any emphasis on religion (I am not Catholic, by the way) but I have heard nothing but good about the Views, and indeed about Glacier.

It seems to me there is a very simple solution: provide hospice facilities in or near the new hospital and further long-term care beds at St. Joe’s, which has has provided sterling service to the Valley for many years.
