Dear editor,

While public transportation is necessary, the Comox Valley Regional District must remember that the taxpayers, who pay their overly inflated wages, are not a never-ending piggybank.

Thank you to Mayor Jangula, councillors Theos, Grant and Nichol, for recognizing that the ever-increasing taxes are tapping out the average person.

Come election time, it’s hoped that the citizens of the Comox Valley will remember which of the elected councillors actually cared about them.

To Coun. Erik Eriksson, how nice for you that you are “well off” (your words). Your past employment must have had a large pension plan; many of us are struggling.

Perhaps you are wealthy enough to pay some, or all, of the $700,000 needed to improve the bus system.

Your arrogance is a slap in the face to the electorate. You and the other wasteful, disrespectful councillors need to leave politics before we, the taxpayers, go broke.

Mike Brown,

Courtenay
