LETTER: Blizzard Day raises $10K in Courtenay

Dear editor,

Comox Valley RCMP Const. Rob Gardner loaded up on Blizzards “for his co-workers” during the Dairy Queen Miracle Day.

Dear editor,

Dairy Queen would like to thank our community for contributing to the success of our annual Blizzard Day on Aug. 10. Together, including cash donations and the proceeds from all Blizzards made, we raise $10,051.80 for the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. We made almost 1,200 Blizzards!

All funds donated go towards pediatric medical research, equipment and programs as well as ensuring that every child receives the same care at no cost burden to their families. Due to government cutbacks and spending, many families would be forced to pay for treatments not covered under the BC Medical system, if it was not for donations to the Children’s Miracle Network. By treating yourself, your friends, family, employees and coworkers to a Blizzard on this day, you were helping families all over British Columbia.

We are proud to be part of such a caring and collective community. Thank you for your support and helping us help Children receive the best care possible. We hope to see you next year.

Staff,

Courtenay Dairy Queen
