'Have a Go' at wheelchair sports this Sunday
The Comox Valley Wheelchair Sports Club is hosting a 'Have a Go' this Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Comox Community Centre from 12 to 3 p.m.
"Come on out to try the sports of wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby in a fun, supportive environment, geared towards new participants," an event spokesperson said. Individuals of all ability levels and ages are welcome to attend.
Matt Buchi, the regional and development coach for BC Wheelchair Basketball, who was recently named assistant coach of the USA Senior Women's Wheelchair Basketball national team, will be in attendance as well as athletes from the Nanaimo Wheelchair Rugby Club, to offer guidance and expertise for the afternoon.
"You do not want to miss this exciting event," the spokesperson said. "We will provide the equipment, you just come and have fun!"
