A couple of students from Podium of Life Snow Sports Academy travelled to Whistler this past weekend with the Mount Washington ski racing team to compete in a U16 event.
The event was scheduled for three GS races and a skier cross. The competitors covered a two-year age span and were from all over British Columbia. This event attracted the strongest skiers from our province.
There were about 60 female racers. In the first event Maja Nymann missed a gate and did not finish. In the second race she finished 38th. The final race was cancelled due to poor weather.
On the boys side, there were about 60 racers and Kole Harle turned in some pretty consistent results
In the first race he was 18th overall and fifth in his birth year. In both of the next two races he was 19th overall and fourth in his birth year. On the final day he was a member of a strong skier cross team. The four-member team was composed of various skiers around the province. He, along with his teammates, won a silver medal.
