Despite a serious age disadvantage, 13-year-old Comox judoka Dakota Sanzana won a bronze medal at the 2020 Elite 8 National Judo Championships, Jan. 11 in Montreal.
The tournament consisted of the top eight Canadian athletes, under 18, in each weight category.
Dakota lost just one fight. In her final bout, she defeated a 17-year-old brown belt.
