Comox Valley United grabs share of sixth place in VISL Div. 1

A 1-0 win over Bays United leaves both teams with identical 4-5-3 records

Comox Valley United grabbed a share of sixth place in the Vancouver Island Soccer League Div. 1 with a 1-0 win Saturday over Bays United in Victoria.

Clay Fauchon netted the game’s only goal and Mack Zirkl recorded his second shutout of the season to lead the way for United, who are now tied with Bays United with identical 4-5-3 records.

Fauchon was the Comox Valley game MVP while Paul Vandenboomen was the Bays’ MVP and Parker Atkins was the Bays’ Rookie of the game.

United is back on the road this weekend for a game against cellar-dwelling Castaways. They return home Dec. 6 to play fourth-place Nanaimo United. Game time is tentatively set for 6 p.m. with location TBA.
