Tuesday was charity day at Sunnydale where 51 ladies competed to raise money for Golf Fore the Cure.
There were many draw prizes courtesy of Golf Canada RCGA and it was sponsored by Adidas and Subaru. A grand total of $652.80 was raised to be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The winners were the team of Carolyn Walker, Judy Berkley, Joan Brown and Chora Eillertsen. The second place team was Vicki Bombini, Bev Slater and Denise Bigelow. Third Place goes to Lys McCrone, Laurie Appleyard, Doris Squire and Lesley Bird. A special prize was also given to the team of Coral Tanner, Beckie Kenner, Louise Smiley and Grace Rodrigez.
Berkley had a good day and won both KPs on hole 10 sponsored by Rob Speer Pro Shop and hole 15, as well.

•Sunnydale June 14: Mary Lynn Doubinin had the Longest Drive on No. 6; Sylvia Stephens had the Longest Putt on No. 9; Colleen Robson was closet to the Pin 3rd shot on No. 5; Erma Derksen was closest to the pin 2nd shot on No. 3 and she was closest to the rock on No. 4! Peggy Ferguson had 11 for the lowest putts! Most honest golfer was Erica Roy.
•June 19 Comox ladies had 26 golfers. First low gross: Sue Leakey and Lorelei Banford tied with a score of 89.
First low net was Anne Patterson with 69.
Fewest number putts was June Fraser with 23.
June 21: first low gross: Leakey and Pat Everett tied with 45;
first low net: Paula McRae, 36;
fewest number putts: Everett with 14;
Chip ins: Michelle Dunn and Gillian.
•June 19 at Glacier Greens was mystery holes, 1,4,5,8,9,11,12,14,18, picked by the pro shop. Add these together minus half a golfer’s handicap. The winners were Michelle Bertrand with 29.5, and a tie between Kelly and Bernice with 30.5. KP was Gene Renaud on #5 and longest putt Nancy Booth on #9. Low putts was Kelly with 28. Birdies were Paula Mowat #12 and Ann Johnston #4 & #12. Chip in was Janet Edwards #7 (jelly bellies for Gene, Nancy and Marie).
Last week the shiny pin was won by Booth on a count back with Brenda Livingston at 64, so snips from the pro shop will go to Livingston net 64, Marg Rushton net 65 and Holly Sanders who won low gross 75. KP #4 was Booth and #12 Livingston. Birdies were #12 Livingston, #10 Booth, #15 Marie Israel, #16 Holly Sanders. Chip in was Connie Alexa (Nancy and Brenda), and low putts was Rosslyn O’Rourke and Livingston with 31.
Ladies wear red and white Tuesday when we celebrate Canada Day, and will use the red and white tee boxes.
