Riptide holds open trials

The VIPL Marine Harvest Riptide is holding the first sessions for 2005-born soccer players for the 2018-2019 season. Open trials serve to support team trials that will see the squad selected by April 15. Trials provide each player an opportunity to play in front of Riptide coaches in an effort to be assessed. They also enable parents to learn more about the program.

Players born in 2006 are allowed to apply, however, confirmation of participation will be based on discussion with either the club coach or club technical director, and communicated back to the individual regarding acceptance.

Sessions run Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 5:30-7 p.m. for girls and 7-8:30 p.m. for boys. Further sessions run Nov. 8 from 5:30-7 p.m. (boys) and 7-8:30 p.m. (girls). Both dates are at the Vanier Turf.

Coaches wanting to apply for a position with either team are encouraged to express interest prior to these events and/or at the sessions in person.

The Riptide program is also seeking a volunteer equipment manager, and a volunteer to co-ordinate weekly video-taping of games.
